New Roof Installation for Dallas Homes and Businesses
A new roof installation differs from a replacement in one respect: there is no existing covering to tear off, so the job starts at the deck. That makes the specification decisions more important, not less. We install to manufacturer specification on every system we fit, which means the deck, underlayment, flashing, ventilation and covering are specified as one system rather than assembled from whatever is on the truck. Done properly, that is what decides whether a roof reaches its designed service life in the Texas heat.
We install for custom home builders, for property owners adding garages, extensions and outbuildings, for small businesses fitting out a new unit, and for commercial properties that need a full roofing system on a new structure.
Roofing Systems and Materials We Install
A roof replacement is only as good as the system under the shingles. We install complete roofing systems to manufacturer specification, which means the deck, underlayment, flashing, ventilation and the covering are specified together rather than one part at a time. The roofing materials we install most often on Dallas homes and businesses are:
- Architectural asphalt shingles, the default for most residential roofing in DFW, with Class 4 impact-resistant shingles available. Many Texas insurers offer a premium discount for a Class 4 roof, though the discount varies by carrier and policy, so check with yours before counting on it.
- Metal roofing, standing seam and exposed-fastener panels, where a homeowner wants a longer service life or a particular look.
- Tile, concrete and clay, matched to the existing profile so a replacement section is not obvious from the street.
- Low-slope and flat membranes for commercial roofing and for the flat sections common on North Dallas homes.
We will walk the available types with you against your budget and your home's architecture, and we will tell you where spending more changes the result and where it does not.
How a Roof Installation Works
- Free inspection and measured scope. We measure the structure, check the deck and the ventilation requirement, and give you a written line-item estimate priced per roofing square. Anything that changes the scope once the deck is open is agreed with you in writing before we continue.
- Materials and delivery. You choose the roofing materials with us. Materials are delivered to the property and we tell you in advance what to move and what to protect, because the work causes vibration.
- Property protection. Landscaping, flower beds, pools and vehicles are protected before anything starts.
- Deck preparation. The deck is checked, any rotted or substandard decking is replaced, and you are told about it before we proceed rather than afterwards.
- Installation. Underlayment, flashing, ventilation and the covering go on in the proper order, to spec, by our own crew.
- Cleanup and walkthrough. A magnetic sweep for nails, debris removed, and a walkthrough with you before we call it finished.
Most residential roof installations are completed in one or two days. Commercial roofing projects run from about three days to three weeks depending on the size of the building.
What Is Included, and the Warranty
Every roof replacement we quote is a written, line-item scope: tear-off and disposal, deck inspection and any rotted decking replaced, new underlayment, flashing, ventilation, the covering itself, permits where required, and a full magnetic sweep of the property at the end. You see the price per roofing square before anything starts. If the tear-off uncovers something that changes the scope, such as rotted decking, we stop and agree it with you in writing before we carry on.
The finished roof carries the manufacturer's material warranty plus our own workmanship warranty, backed by a family business that has been in Dallas since 2010 and holds an A+ BBB rating, accredited since 2011. That combination is the part that matters: a material warranty is only worth as much as the roofing company still being here to honour the installation behind it.
Why Dallas Property Owners Choose Dane Roofing
Dane Roofing has earned an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau, accredited since 2011, and has been family-owned and operated in Dallas since 2010. We employ skilled roofers rather than subcontracting the work out to whoever is available, and the results show in the reviews: calls returned, appointments kept, and craftsmanship that holds up. Kelly Dane founded the company and is usually the person who walks your roof with you.
We are dependable about the things that are easy to get wrong. You get a thorough inspection before any work is quoted, a written scope so you know what you are buying, a crew that protects your property, and a workmanship warranty from a company that has been here for over a decade. Our customers trust us with repeat projects, which is the only satisfaction metric that really counts.
Alongside new roof installation we handle roof replacement, re-roofing, roof repair and roof repairs after storms, roof inspections, hail damage and storm damage work, and commercial roofing. Emergency service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Hail Damage and Insurance Claims
Most full roof replacements in Dallas start with a storm rather than with age. After a hailstorm we carry out a thorough roof inspection, document what we find with photographs, and give you a straight answer on whether the damage justifies a claim at all. We work with you and your insurance company to document roof damage, provide detailed estimates, and address questions about the roofing work. We work with State Farm, Allstate, USAA, Farmers and Liberty Mutual most weeks of the year, so we know what documentation an insurer looks for.
We are not storm chasers. We were here before the storm and we will be here after it, which is a different proposition from the roofers who knock on doors in an affected neighborhood and are gone the following season.

Roof Installation Questions
How long will my new roof last?
An architectural asphalt system installed to specification with correct ventilation typically gives 25 to 30 years of service life in the Dallas climate. Metal runs considerably longer. Ventilation is the detail that decides it: a roof that cannot breathe cooks from underneath and fails early regardless of what the shingle wrapper promised.
Do you install on new construction?
Yes. We work with custom home builders and commercial contractors across the DFW metroplex, and we also handle garages, extensions, outbuildings and new commercial units. We are happy to work to an architect's specification or to recommend a roof system for the structure.
What maintenance does a new roof need?
Very little, and that is the point of installing it properly. We recommend an inspection after any significant hail or wind event and a general check every couple of years. Catching a lifted shingle or failed sealant early is what stops it becoming a leak and, eventually, a restoration job on the decking below.
Will you bring the details to me before work starts?
Yes. You get a written scope with the materials, the ventilation plan, the timeline and the price per roofing square before anything is ordered. Our customers recommend us for exactly this reason, and we would rather answer ten questions now than have one surprise later.
